This step describes how to download data from the Experian Electronic Updates portal. If you don't have access to this portal or acquire your data in a different way, contact local support.
To download your data files, log into the Electronic Updates portal. Your login details were emailed to you when your account was set up. If you don't know these, contact us.
If you've been given access to the Self Service Portal, you can download all the datasets you're licensed for with one click.
Go to Address data > View and download data and click Download.
All the datasets will be automatically compressed into one or more .zip files (depending on their size) and downloaded. Once compressed, files will be available for 24 hours. If you don't download them before the 24 hour window expires, you'll have to compress the files again before downloading.
To download one dataset file at a time, click on the relevant file name.
Make sure you unzip the file(s) in your current data directory, once downloaded.
To view datasets you're licensed for, go to My dataset page. To download, click the required dataset code and you'll be taken to the download page. Make a note of the downloaded location, you may need to refer to this later.
Make sure that you download the most recent data and ensure that any additional datasets are from the same vintage as the related core dataset.
The next step is to replace the old data files used by your Experian products with the newly downloaded ones.
