Installing and upgrading

There are two ways you can install the Experian Data Validation MS Dynamics 365 PCF Control solution:

1. AppSource

  1. Go the AppSource

  2. Click Get it Now

  3. Sign in

  4. Fill out the mandatory information on the Experian Data Valdation for Dynamics 365 CRM pop up, and agree to the Microsoft Permissions.

  5. Click Continue

    This will take you through to the Power platform admin center.

  6. On the right hand side you should see an install window. Select the environment you want to install the solution into, and agree to both Microsoft's legal and privacy statement.

  7. Click Install

    You should then be taken to your environment and see the Experian Data Validation for Dynamics 365 CRM solution in the app list and its status.

    This will install into the environment you have selected, but also at the tenant level. This means you then can activate the solution in other environments. To do this, view this MS Dynamics 365 guide.

    Our Sales team will then be in touch to get you set up with licences (they will contact you via the details you entered while installing the solution.)

2. Uploading file directly

  1. Contact Support
  2. Open the email you will have received from Experian.
  3. Follow the instructions in this email to access and download the Experian Data Validation for MS Dynamics 365 solution files onto your local drive.

To import the solution files:

  1. Log in.
  2. Select Solutions in the left panel.
  3. Select Import in the top panel.
  4. Click Browse and select the Experian Data Validation for Microsoft Dynamics 365 zip file on your computer.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Import.

  2. Select Advanced settings in the settings dropdown menu to the top right.
  3. Click the arrow next to settings on the left hand side of in the Main dashboard, and then click Solutions under the Customization sub-menu.

  4. Click Import in the top bar of the All Solutions window.
  5. Click Choose file in the Import Solution pop-up window and select the Experian Data Validation for Microsoft Dynamics 365 zip file on your computer.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click Next and then click Import to begin the import process.
  8. Click Close once this is complete.

3. Assign security role

From V4.1 onwards the Experian Data Validation for MS Dynamics 365 solution has a built-in security role named ExperianDataValidationRole that needs to be assigned to users or teams (other than system administrators) that require access to the solution. Follow the steps below to add the security role to a team (similar steps can be used to assign the role to a user):

  1. From the Power Platform admin center home page, click the Environments link on the left navigation bar to open the Environments list page.
  2. Select the link for the environment to which the solution has been installed to open the Environment's page.
  3. On the right side of the page there is a panel titled Access with links to view all Security roles, Users and Teams.
  4. Click the 'See all' link for Teams to be taken to the page that lists all the teams on that environment.
  5. Select the team which you would like to assign the ExperianDataValidationRole security role to and click the Manage Security roles menu option at the top of the page.
  6. In the list that opens find the ExperianDataValidationRole security role and select it.
  7. Click the Save button to assign the role to the team.
  1. On the Settings Security page (in the Classic UI) under the title "Which feature would you like to work with?" select Teams.
  2. Select the team which you would like to assign the ExperianDataValidationRole security role to and click the MANAGE ROLES menu option at the top of the page.
  3. In the Manage Team Roles dialog that appears select the checkbox for the ExperianDataValidationRole item from the list of security roles displayed.
  4. Click the OK button to assign the role to the team.

4. Upgrading

Follow the steps below if you are upgrading a pervious version.

  • If you are upgrading a version 4 installation prior to V4.0.163, revisit the steps To bind the fields to your forms and perform the extra steps to configure the web resource edq_formmanager for each form where address validation has been added.

Uninstall

To uninstall the solution via:

  1. Log in.
  2. Select Solutions in the left panel.
  3. Click the tick next to the solution (i.e. Experian Data Validation for Microsoft Dynamics 365) you want to delete from the list.
  4. Click Delete in the top panel.
  5. Click Delete in the pop up window to confirm deletion.

  2. Select Advanced settings in the settings dropdown menu to the top right.
  3. Click the arrow next to settings on the left hand side of in the Main dashboard, and then click Solutions under the Customization sub-menu.

  4. Click the box next to the solution (i.e. Experian Data Validation for Microsoft Dynamics 365) you want to delete from the list.
  5. Click Delete (the cross icon in the top panel of the All Solutions page).
  6. Click OK to confirm deletion.
