Email address fields

If you marked any fields as 'Email' during the Mapping stage, these fields will appear as the second set of columns in your cleaned address file.

Input Email (optional)

  • If (during the Output configuration stage) you choose to include your original input data with your output, these will be returned as the first email address field.
  • These will be identical to the input email addresses you submit to Clean, and can be used to directly compare your input and cleaned email addresses.

Cleaned Email Address Fields

  • Cleaned email address fields appear after your input email address fields (if you choose to include input addresses during the Output configuration stage) or as the first email address field (if you do not).
  • As email addresses are not cleaned in the same way as postal addresses, the cleaned email address fields will always be identical to the email addresses you supply.
  • To see whether an email address should be used, consult the corresponding Email Match Code.

Best Email Address Fields (optional)

  • If (during the Output configuration stage) you choose to include best matches, these will be returned after the cleaned email address fields.
  • As email addresses are not cleaned in the same way as postal addresses, the best email address fields will always be identical to the email addresses you supply.
  • To see whether an email address should be used, consult the corresponding Email Match Code.

Keep fields (optional)

If you marked any fields as 'Keep' during the Mapping stage, these fields will appear as the last columns in your cleaned address file.

These fields will be identical to the versions in your input file.
